Holland Beetler, age 85, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at his home, surrounded by family. He was a 2-year resident coming from Altona, IL, where he resided for 83 years. Holland was born on July 27, 1931, in Yates City, IL to the late Fred & Louise (Learned) Beetler. He was a veteran of the U S Army serving for nearly 2 years; stationed in Germany, as a Jeep Mechanic, before returning home to Knox County, Illinois where he spent his life as a farmer. Holland Beetler, age 85, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at his home, surrounded by family. He was a 2-year resident coming from Altona, IL, where he resided for 83 years. Holland was born on July 27, 1931, in Yates City, IL to the late Fred & Louise (Learned) Beetler. He was a veteran of the U S Army serving for nearly 2 years; stationed in Germany, as a Jeep Mechanic, before returning home to Knox County, Illinois where he spent his life as a farmer. When Holland was not working on the farm, being a man of strong Christian faith, Holland was a board member of the Galesburg Rescue Mission; he helped to build and was a charter board member at Faith Bible Camp, in Yates City; and was a Song Leader, and Teacher at the Calvary Bible Church, in Williamsfield, IL. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and playing games and sports with his family and grandchildren. He attended church with his wife, Louise, at Hope Community Bible Church, in Spring Hill. Holland was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Louise (Learned) Beetler; siblings: Rena Beetler, Ruth Broadfield, Harold Beetler, and Lois Mayer, and by sons-in-laws: Douglas Sipe and Matthew Boesen. Holland and his loving wife of 59 years, Louise (Graves) Beetler, were married on August 4, 1957, in Yates City, IL. Holland and Louise were blessed with 8 children: daughter Ruth (Aaron) Brown, daughter Dr. June Beetler, DO, son Gene (Anita) Beetler, daughter Connie (Luke) Powell, daughter Judy (Tim) Gunsteens, son Mark (Lori) Beetler, son John (Sigita) Beetler, and son Alan (Herminia) Beetler. Grandchildren include: Matthew (Sarah) Brown, Michelle Brown, Sara Boesen, Timothy Beetler, Danielle Beetler, Anastasia Beetler, Nick Beetler, Dr. Nathan (Mia) Sipe-Powell, DPT,CSCS, Specialist Eric Sipe, Andrew Powell, Jameson Wilkins, Nathan Wilkins, Samantha Gunsteens, Megan Beetler, Alyssa Beetler, Veronica Ramos, Miguel Ramos, and Corporal Gabriel Ramos, 4 great granddaughters: Anna Brown, Emma Brown, Kylie Brown, Naomi Brown, and 1 great grandson, Rueben Brown. Holland leaves behind 3 siblings: Donald Beetler, Bob Beetler, and Barbara Waldarski. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016, at 7 pm, at the Hope Community Bible Church, 13241 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609, with Reverend David A. Pletincks officiating. Funeral arrangements and cremation entrusted to the Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, Florida 34609.
